The Best in Rome

Rome's HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS

Rome, consistently one of the most visited cities in the world (in 2006 it was number one, and tourism numbers are up again this year), has a plethora of hotels. At the top of the scale, the super luxury places near the Piazza del Popolo and the Via Veneto, where heads of state, movie stars, the rich and celebrated are always to be found: the Hotel de Russie, the Eden, the Excelsior, the Splendide Royale. And at the bottom of the price list, the hostels and bed and breakfast apartments, some of them quite comfortable, that dot the streets surrounding the main train station, Stazione Termini. In between, there are a number of charming boutique hotels, three and four-star accomodations offering varying degrees of comfort. We have personally visited many, many hotels in our home town of Rome, talked with the proprietors, examined the rooms, sometimes encouraged friends to stay there and report back. Our recommendations can be found on the links above. If you stay in one of our listed hotels, we'd love to hear your comments. Please let us know at info@inromenow.com.

HOTEL NAVONA

This small hotel gives travelers the experience of staying in a 15th century palace, in one of the best locations in Rome, just adjacent to the Piazza Navona, and a five minute walk to the Pantheon. The palace has been restored by its owner, your host, who is a descendant of  aristocratic Italian families and an architect. The antique furnishings, frescoed walls, ancient coved ceilings, and helpful front desk lend charm to the hotel, while fine linens, satellite plasma TV, air-conditioning, safes and hair dryers give it modern comfort. The same owners also a small four-star accommodation nearby, the Residenza Zanardelli, occupying what would have been the noble  floor of a 19th century palace designed in the sumptuous Baocchetto Romano style.
