The Best in Rome

ROME'S NIGHTLIFE

Rome is full of things to do. On any given night you'll be hard pressed to make a choice. Italians eat dinner late, and go out "dopo cena," at about ten or eleven at night. Then, depending on taste or age group, they'll have a choice of a digestivo, an after dinner drink in a pleasant locale, dancing to tango, salsa or the latest disco sounds. And Rome is known for its jazz clubs. Italian jazz musicians are world class and they can be heard in Rome on any night of the week. Rome even has a few blues players who will make you swear they were born in Waco, Texas or Memphis, Tennessee. We've given you a head start at finding the best of these locations, and for those of you with children, we've included some tips on keeping them entertained, as well.

GOA

Goa Disco

Perhaps Rome's definitive club with an up to the minute dècor (currently in the ethnochic style of Bollywood), in an attempt to stay one step ahead of other Rome clubs, and playing the newest swings, mostly specializing in Minimal/Tech-House. Ultrabeat Thursday's have seen world renowned celebrities behind the console — Sven Vath, Steve Bug, Italian star dj Claudio Coocoluto to name a few. Friday's theme, "D'Lite," offers a less raucous but equally exciting evening; Saturdays it's "From Classics On", with a variation between Dance and Funky House. There's always a line outside, and the selection is so tough you almost need a raccomendazione to get in the door.
